Synology backup

Introduction

Esia currently implements the following Synology backups:

  • Active Backup
  • Hyper Backup

This tutorial explains how to create a user on your Synology to add to Esia. This procedure is identical regardless of the type of Synology backup you wish to integrate.

Accessing user management on your Synology

Once authenticated on your Synology NAS :

  • Open the Control Panel

  • Click on User and group

  • Click on Create a user

Configure your user

Enter the following information:

  • Login
  • Password

The two pieces of information above must then be entered into your Esia.

Click on Nextthen continue to the Assign application permissions.

On the Assign permissions on the application :

  • Click at the top of the column on Refuse

  • Then, on the line corresponding to your backup application, click on Authorise. Example for Hyperbackup ;

Click again on Next again until the configuration is complete.

On the settings confirmation page, check that your backup system appears in the included privileges. Then confirm by clicking on Done.

Added to your Esia

Synology backup drivers are all configured in the same way. You just need to select the right driver. Steps :

  • Add a node in Esia, of type Backup server (don't forget to enter the node group and IP address):

  • Select the driver corresponding to the desired Synology backup system:

  • Check the URL and enter the login and password.
